Maria Sideri is an artist and researcher. Her practice includes performance, sound and installation. Through different research methods, her work explores embodied and affective archives. Her research turns towards the body as archive and archivist and towards notions of memorization and rituals of possession as artistic methodologies that reveal oral histories of bodies that are often silenced. Her solo practice is equally framed by various collaborations with individuals and communities that explore the body as a documentation tool for oral histories with the aim of preserving or creating counter-archives of affect and empowerment.
